They called us renegades. We took it as a compliment.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of men were branded outlaws, traitors, rebels, and renegades by the most powerful empire on earth. Their crime was believing they could build something better than what they'd been handed. They didn't ask permission. They didn't wait for the system to fix itself. They signed their names, staked everything, and started a country.
We've never forgotten that the people who built America were the ones told they weren't allowed to.
Two and a half centuries later, that country is marking 250 years — and we think that milestone means something. America has always been a work in progress: a nation that declares bold ideals, falls short of them, and then fights its way back toward them. Every generation has its renegades — the people who look at what isn't working and decide to build anyway. That's the through-line of American history, and it's the through-line of this company. We launched The Renegade Cannabis Company in this anniversary year on purpose, because we believe the next 250 years belong to the builders, the makers, and the ones still willing to challenge a broken system.
This is what The Renegade is: history meets patriotism meets cannabis done right. Every product we make carries that story — the iconography, the craftsmanship, the refusal to treat this plant like a commodity. We're not here to chase trends or hide behind a THC number. We're building an American brand with roots, conviction, and a reason to exist. Born in New Mexico, built on vintage American grit and a kind of patriotism this industry had never seen. We didn't fit in. That was the point.
Now let me tell you where I come from. After twenty-five years in politics and public life, I learned something that stays with me: the systems built to protect people too often fail the ones who need them most. We criminalized a plant for decades while the sick, the hurting, and the addicted paid the price. We sent men and women to war and then handed them a pill bottle and a thank-you when they came home. That's not patriotism. That's a broken system wearing a flag on its lapel. I believe cannabis, done right, is part of the answer — plant medicine, a cultural force, and a craft worth honoring.
I'll be honest with you about where I stand. I got sober on October 30th, 2018, and started The Renegade Hemp Company a year later. Almost eight years without alcohol now — and that's not a contradiction, it's the whole point. Sobriety taught me what a broken system looks like up close, and it taught me that healing doesn't come in one shape for every person. That hemp company became what you see today: The Renegade Cannabis Company. I built it because I believe in giving people real options, real quality, and real respect — not a lecture, not a stigma, and never a product I wouldn't put my own name on.
So that's what we make. Premium products that speak for themselves. Precision hardware. Tins built to be kept, not tossed. A brand that stands for something beyond the THC percentage.
This is cannabis for people who build things, fight for things, and don't wait for permission.
So yes — they called us renegades. We took it as a compliment.
We still do.

A portion of every Renegade purchase supports veteran wellness and suicide prevention.
Because the same country that sent them to war owes them more than a thank you.
